Before Thursday afternoon’s varsity softball matchup at Cape Fear Christian Academy, the last time the Eagles played Halifax Academy was in the deciding game for the NCISAA 1-A championshipin 2014. CFCA came out of the losers’ bracket in the double-elimination event at Oakwood School in Greenville for a deciding game with Halifax by taking a 5-2 win.
