Bozie and Mary Lee Tart were among nine couples who renewed their wedding vows Sunday afternoon at Hood Memorial Christian Church in Dunn. The Revs. Jason and Joanie Williams conducted the ceremony the church called We Still Do. 'We are
here to celebrate marriage and marriage vows that have
been made and live on,'
Joanie Williams said. There was also scripture reading and singing. After the ceremony, Joanie Williams invited the couples to take their seats. They protested because the minister had skipped the 'you may kiss the bride' part, but she quickly invited the couples to do so. Which they did. Candles were also lit in memory of loved ones. Hood Memorial opened the ceremony to the community and there was no charge. It was an early Valentine's Day present.
