Benson Historic Home Getting Facelift

Daily Record Photo/Rick Curl – The Samuel D. Stone House, located at 201 E. Church St. in Benson, has new ownership and with it some renovations. The house, which was built in 1918 by Benson contractor Whitt Norris, is slowly getting a facelift. It is one of a group of five residences built in the same Neoclassical Revival style in Benson during the first two decades of the 20th Century. The house, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, is on file with the U.S. Department of the Interior. The house was recently purchased in a private sale to New York City rapper Shamele Mackie aka Papoose who is married to formerly jailed female rapper Remy Ma.
