Thanks to the keen observations of a Benson Police officer, a Benson man was jailed for a March assault.
Franco Renault Lekeen Farmer, 23, of Chicopee Road in Benson was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Harnett County.
He was being sought by authorities in connection with a domestic dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend that became violent.
Took Place Near Dunn
On March 12, Mr. Farmer is accused of strangling his girlfriend in a Dunn residence before fleeing the scene.
Harnett County Sheriff’s Maj. Jeff Huber said there was evidence of serious injury to the victim.
Mr. Farmer was taken into custody after Benson Police Officer Christopher Warren recognized him while he and another male were pushing a car down the street.
He was taken into custody a short time later in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store located at 702 S. Wall St..
The suspect now faces one count each of felony assault by strangulation, second-degree kidnapping and felony assault on a female.
Mr. Farmer was taken to the Johnston County Detention Center where he was jailed without bond.
