After producing top five individual performances at the ECU Intercollegiate, Ray Kraivixien and Pontus Nyholm of Campbell University have earned Big South Conference weekly men’s golf honors.

Kraivixien shared Golfer of the Week honors with Longwood’s Brandon Weaver, while Nyholm was named Freshman of the Week.

Kraivixien tied for first at the ECU Intercollegiate (par 72, 6,755 yards) with a 2-over 218 (75-7073). He moved up from third place after 36 holes into the top spot before falling short in a three-way playoff for medalist honors. Kraivixien tied for first in the event in par 4 scoring (even) and tied for the fourthmost birdies with nine.

He has produced 16 rounds of par or better in 27 trips this season and lowered his scoring average to 71.22, best in the Big South. With five top 10 individual finishes in nine outings, Kraivixien ranks second in the league.

Nyholm tied for fourth at the ECU Intercollegiate with a 4-over 220 (77-73-70) for his fourth top 10 effort of the season. He was tied for 21st-place after two rounds and carded the secondlowest score of the final round to move inside the top five. Nyholm was second in the field with 11 birdies and fourth overall on the par 5 holes (-4).

On the year, Nyholm has recorded 13 par, or better, rounds in nine events and stands fourth in the Big South with a 71.70 stroke average.

Campbell returns to action this weekend in the Stitch Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary.

Ray Kraivixien earned a share of the Big South Conference Golfer of the Week honor. To begin this season, the junior, from Bangkok, Thailand, held the 12th-lowest career stroke average in Campbell Division I history.
