FAYETTEVILLE — The Cumberland Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications to sponsor two high school students in Cumberland County to attend the Resource Conservation Workshop June 25-30 at N.C. State University. The application deadline is April 7.
The Resource Conservation Workshop is open to high school students in grades 9, 10 and 11 who have an interest in careers in conservation or natural resources.
Applications are available by going to www.ncagr.gov/SWC and clicking on the “Resource Conservation Workshop” tab. Mail completed applications to Cumberland Soil and Water Conservation District, 301 E. Mountain Dr., Suite 229, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
The weeklong Resource Conservation Workshop provides students with learning and hands-on participation in a wide range of conservation topics and natural resource management. The workshop is sponsored by the N.C. Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts in conjunction with the N.C. Division of Soil and Water Conservation, N.C. State University Soil Science Department and the Soil and Water Conservation Society Hugh Hammond Bennett Chapter.
