Cooperative Extension 4-H Summer Adventures Activities Slated

The Cumberland County Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development program is holding a Summer Adventure summer program for ages 5–19 in June, July and August. Participants must have a current 4-H membership enrollment packet completed and on file. Below are just a few of the upcoming events in June:

• Livestock Summer Fun, June 26-27, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youth ages 9 and older will go on farm tours and engage in hands-on activities. Youth will learn showmanship, judging, breeds, animal identification and more. Lunch provided. The cost is $30 and registration deadline is today.

• Robotics will be June 28-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youth ages 9 and older will use Legos to create robots and adjust them using the Engineer Design Process. Snacks provided. The cost is $30 and the registration deadline is Wednesday.

• Bread in a Bag will be offered June 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. for children ages 5 through 8. Participants will learn the importance of measuring carefully when it comes to baking and each child will turn their dough into a loaf of bread to take home. The cost is $10 and registration is deadline is Thursday.
