Dunn Man Seriously Hurt In Shooting

• Two shot in suspected drug deal gone bad.

The two young men who were shot in the head on Sunday are fighting for there lives as Raeford Police continue searching for answers.

Steven Demetrius McClain, 26, of Oakridge Lane, Dunn, and Justin Alexander Moore, 28 of Candor were critically wounded during what police suspect to be “a drug transaction that went bad.”

A shots-fired call came into Raeford Police at 4:33 p.m. on Sunday. Officers responded to the Liberty Gas Station, at 526 Aberdeen Road in Raeford, to find both of the men shot in the head.

Cape Fear Valley Emergency Medical Services also responded and both men were taken to area hospitals. Mr. Moore needed to be airlifted.

Raeford Police Chief Marc Godwin called their injuries “life threatening” and said both men remain in “very serious condition.”

The weapon used in the shootings was a handgun, Chief Godwin said.
