Overhills Boys Host Mid-South 4-A Final

The Overhills varsity boys basketball team will host Seventy-First at 7 p.m. tonight for the boys basketball championship of the Mid-South 4-A Conference Tournament.

The Jaguars, the top seed, defeated visiting Jack Britt 70-56 on Wednesday night to improve to 19-4.

Seventy-First, the No. 2 seed, reached the league final with a 72-66 win over Cape Fear.

Overhills got 22 points each from Josh Richmond and Zavian McLean against Britt.

McLean hit 13 of 14 free throws. Richmond also contributed three steals. Latrell Lloyd had eight points and four assists for the Jaguars.

Claude English had six points and Deshawn Nelson added five points. Tyrin McCrae and Pedro Gama scored three points each for Overhills.

Nelson had five rebounds with Gama, McCrae, McLean and English grabbing four apiece.
