N.C., S.C. Football Showcase Is March 3

The Carolinas Senior Football Showcase is a free one-day, nonprofit event presented by former UCLA tight end and NFL veteran Charles Arbuckle and Blazing 7 on 7 for high school seniors to display their skills to Division II, III and NAIA football programs. It is the organization’s belief that the opportunity of playing college football while earning a college degree has a profound effect on changing young people’s lives.

The showcase will be held Saturday, March 3, at the Charlotte Latin School, 9502 Providence Road, Charlotte (Exit 57 off I-485). It will feature athletes from all over Carolinas, Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky and bring together educational institutions in Division II, III and NAIA programs from across the country.

The Carolinas Senior Football Showcase will be organized and managed by football coaches hand-selected by Charles Arbuckle and Blazing 7 on 7. A series of tests and drills will be run that will display players’ talents at their respective positions.

Following the activities, players and universities will meet to discuss scholarship opportunities for the participating athletes.

To be eligible for the Showcase, a student must be a graduating high school senior, have not accepted a scholarship offer from a Division I football program and have already taken the SAT or ACT exam. Students must meet one of the three following requirements: Have a 2.3 GPA or higher in 16 core courses, have an SAT score of 820 (math and verbal only) or higher, if taken before March 2016, have an SAT score of 900 (math and verbal only) or higher, if taken after March 2016 and/or have an ACT sum score of 68 or higher.
