One man was injured when his moped was hit by a car in Dunn Sunday.
According to the Dunn Police Department, Elma Largent Matthews, 65, of Webster Drive in Dunn was traveling north on Fairground Road when she was hit by a moped driven by Andrea Byrd, 38, of Erwin.
Police reports indicate Ms. Byrd was attempting to make a left turn when the accident occurred. Her vehicle became lodged under Ms. Matthews’ car and was drug approximately 541 feet before the car stopped.
Ms. Byrd was injured in the accident and taken to WakeMed in Raleigh.
Ms. Matthews told investigators the headlights on the moped were not illuminated at the time of the accident which made it difficult to see.
Ms. Matthews was charged with driving with a revoked license and hit-and-run.
