An area tradition is returning again this Saturday as Shine & Shop makes its semi-annual visit to Broadslab Distillery in Benson.
And despite the anticipated cooler weather, event organizer Natalie Morgan says there’s still plenty of good reasons to attend.
“The weather isn’t supposed to be that bad, just a little on the cool side,” Mrs. Morgan said. “We’d like to invite everyone to come out, have a hot toddy, do some shopping and have a good time.”
As usual, the event will feature vendors from around the area offering everything from handmade and vintage items to the offerings of local brewers — and of course the offerings of the host, Broadslab Distillery.
“The distillery will have tours and a moonshine tasting,” Mrs. Morgan said. “So folks can get a look at how moonshine is made.”
The event will once again showcase more than 80 vendors offering a large variety of gifts, crafts and handmade items.
“We have a lot of our usual vendors which always have a large variety of gifts and home decor,” Mrs. Morgan said. “There’s lots of items for everyone on somebody’s Christmas list. Plus, we have a few new vendors who specialize in some really unique things that you can’t find anywhere else.”
Along with gift items and the other unique finds, there will also be several food trucks on hand to fit any taste.
Returning for this edition of the Shine & Shop will be the Humble Pig, Tacos El Coral, Fun-4-Ahl, Luigi’s Ice Cream, Lena’s Mini-Donuts, Five Star Kettle Corn and Kona Ice.
Moonrunners from Garner brings its wide array of food to the event as well.
Their menu includes a variety of items ranging from chicken sausage on a stick to ribs, wings and brisket sliders.
There will also be plenty to keep the kids entertained with bounce houses and face painting and as always, admission and parking are free.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the distillery located at 4834 N.C. 50, Benson.
