Special Olympics Is Year-Round Training Opportunity

It’s true. Harnett County Special Olympics’ biggest event is their Spring Games at Campbell University in April, but they also have year-round training in many more sports for athletes 8 and older who have submitted, through Harnett County Schools, an Athlete Participation Form that is current.

Athletes who are not in school, can submit an Athlete Participation Form to SONC Harnett County, P.O. Box 1254, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, and then be able to compete in the year-round sports as well as the Spring Games.

Fall sport trainings include:

• Basketball, every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Dunn Community Building, 205 Jackson Road.

• Bocce, every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Tyler Park in Dunn.

• Golf, every Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Keith Hills Golf Course in Buies Creek.

• Tennis, every Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Nisbet Tennis Center at Campbell University.
