High Class A Astros Announce Stay At Campbell

While the Houston Astros’ advanced Class A entry in the Carolina League awaits completion of a stadium in Fayetteville, it was announced on Nov. 17, that the team would play the 2017 and 2018 seasons as the Buies Creek Astros with its home games at Campbell’s Jim Perry Stadium.

The Carolina League will also return to Kinston next season with the Down East Wood Ducks scheduled to play at Grainger Stadium.

A synthetic playing surface is in the process of being installed at Jim Perry Stadium.

The Astros’ high Class A club previously played in the California League.

Buies Creek is scheduled to open at home against the Salem Red Sox on April 6.
