The four Harnett County high school varsity football teams will scrimmage four teams from outside the area in the Harnett Jamboree at Triton this evening.
The event begins with the Harnett programs lining up against one another in abbreviated junior varsity sessions beginning at 4 p.m.
Admission is $5.
Apex, Clayton, Corinth Holders and Wallace-Rose Hill will provide the varsity opposition.
Triton matches up with Apex and Harnett Central goes against Corinth Holders in the first varsity action at 5 p.m.
That will be followed at 6 p.m. with Triton facing Corinth Holders and Harnett Central meeting Apex.
At 7 p.m., the Western Harnett varsity is scheduled to oppose Wallace-Rose Hill and Overhills will compete with Clayton.
The last varsity session at 8 p.m. sends Western Harnett against Clayton and Overhills against Wallace-Rose Hill.
The varsities are scheduled for 45-minute scrimmages consisting of 10-play possessions.
Junior Varsity Matchups
The junior varsities scrimmages are set for 25 minutes each and also will be in a 10-play possession format.
The Triton junior varsity faces Overhills and the Central JV meets Western at 4 p.m.
At 4:30, the younger Hawks hit with Western and Central faces Overhills.
The Sampson Jamboree, with Midway and Hobbton among the teams involved, is set for Friday night at Clinton.
