Triton HOSA Students Win At District Competiton

The NC HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) District 4 Competition was held last month at Terry Sanford High School.

Students from Triton High School competed in categories such as Creative Problem Solving, Sports Medicine, Health Career Display and the HOSA Bowl.

The competition included students from Harnett, Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson and Scotland counties.

Winners from the district competition will go on to compete at state in March.

Winners included:

• First place Creative Problem Solving: Brandon Alarcon, Daisy Gonzalez, Sydney Herring and Milagros Sanchez.

• Second place Creative Problem Solving: Cameron Parker, Madison Puckett, Kenzie Smith and Trenton Thomas.

• Third place Health Career Display: Jonathan Apolinar and Karnecas Dixon.

• Fifth place Sports Medicine: Avante Cameron.

• Fifth place HOSA Bowl: Jessy Garcie, Slena Mateo, Dulce Ortiz and Anna Coats.

• Seventh place HOSA Bowl: Marcos Sanchez, Caleb Spengel, Joslyn Andrade and Emilie Obregon.

• Tenth place Health Career Display: Sahadi Plata and Chloe Parker.
