Two men have been taken into custody in the 2014 shooting death of a Lillington man in a Raleigh parking lot.

Raleigh Police Investigators have charged Andrew Ellis, 31 and Dominque Wiley Ellis, 26, with the June 1, 2014, murder of Vernon Oneal Jones Jr.

According to a press release, Mr. Jones was found shot to death in a parking lot at the corner of West Hargett and South West streets around 3:15 a.m. the night of the incident.

Investigators have not yet said if the shooting of the 26-year-old was related to an incident at a nearby nightclub a short time before his body was discovered.

Both suspects have been charged with murder. Mr. Ellis is currently incarcerated by the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Pasquotank County and Ms. Ellis is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center without bond. Her photo was not immediately available from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
