The boys soccer season ended in the fourth round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs for Hobbton on Saturday with a 3-1 loss at Franklin Academy of Wake Forest.
The Wildcats finished the season with a 19-5-2 record.
Hobbton went unbeaten in the Carolina Conference and was seeded fifth with a first-round bye for the postseason.
The Wildcats advanced past Rosewood by a 5-0 margin in the second round.
Hobbton’s third-round contest with Research Triangle was a 1-1 draw but the Wildcats advanced in a shootout.
Franklin led 2-0 on Saturday before Hobbton got on the board at 39:44 on a penalty kick by Larry Favela.
The Wildcats nearly tied the score on shots by Jared Sanchez in the 58th minute and by Jair Sanchez in the 61st minute.
The Patriots improved to 22-0-1.
