DUNN — Mrs. Bobbie Defoor Ledford, 88, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2020, at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Toccoa, Georgia, on June 2, 1931, to the late Benjamin D. and Mable W. Defoor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Poe Ledford; a son, Bobby Poe Ledford; a daughter, Carol Ledford Wells; and two grandsons, Benjamin Michael Cheshire and Paul Ledford.
Bobbie worked for many years as preschool teacher at the Presbyterian Church of Dunn. She was a member of the VFW’s Auxiliary and was also a caregiver to many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught children’s Sunday school and achieved the Masterlife training.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church by Dr. Len Keever. The burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
She is survived by two sons, Tim Ledford and wife Kathy of Dunn, Mark Ledford and wife Lisa of Broadway; a daughter, Lynn Spencer and husband Dino of Norfolk, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
The family asks instead of flowers that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 309 W. Broad St., Dunn, NC 28334.
