Trinity AME Zion Church will not have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. this week. Instead the church will have Sunday morning worship beginning promptly at 9. Members and friends are then asked to travel with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Earlene Baggett, to fellowship in the 11 a.m. worship service at Davis Chapel AME Zion Church, Linden.

The Trinity AME Zion Church family invites you to join them in celebrating their 128th church anniversary on Sept. 16. The Rev. John Thomas Morrison Jr. of Mt Zion AME Zion Church, Eastover, will render the 11 a.m. message along with the Mt. Zion Male Chorus and congregation. Dinner will be served immediately following morning worship. The Rev. Dr. Earlene Baggett is host pastor.

Public Service Honor Day

The second annual Public Service Honor Day will be held Sunday at 10:45 a.m. at Pleasant Union Christian Church, 2164 Neill’s Creek Road, Lillington. If you are a member of the local military, law enforcement, firefighters, medical personnel, teachers or other public servants they would like to recognize and honor you during the 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday. A complimentary lunch will follow the service.

Homecoming At Blackman’s Grove

Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church, located at the intersection of N.C. 96 and Stricklands Crossroads Road, will cerebrate its 125th homecoming Sunday.

Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. with the worship service starting at 11. The Rev. Jerry Hicks will deliver the morning sermon. Rev. Hicks served as pastor of Blackman’s Grove for 14 years before retiring in 2016. He presents the gospel of Jesus Christ with integrity, humor and a love for God’s church.

All undesignated offerings on Homecoming Sunday will be placed into the Future Fellowship Hall Building Fund.

After the worship service, everyone is invited to a covered dish lunch at the Fellowship Center located on Wood-Lee Road.

Plate Sale At Benson PFWB

Benson PFWB Church will sponsor a barbecue pork or chicken plate sale Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fellowship Center. Eat-in, take-out or drive-thru will be available. The cost is $8 per plate. Proceeds go to benefit the building fund. An auction will begin at 6 p.m.

The church is located at 205 E. Hill St., Benson.

Second Saturday Night Sing

The Second Saturday Night Sing will be held this Saturday at Baptist Chapel Church. Service time is 7 p.m.

Golf Tournament Coming Up

Join Erwin Church of God for a Four Man Captain’s Choice Tournament to be held Sept. 29 at Keith Hills Golf Course. On behalf of the student ministries, they are raising funds to take students on church events for 2018-2019. The tournament schedule is: Registration, 10:30 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m.; and shotgun start, 12:30 p.m. Prizes to be awarded include first, second and third place; closest to pin on all par 3 holes; longest drive; longest putt and more. Lunch will be included. The cost is $60 per golfer or $240 per team. For a donation of $100, you can sponsor a hole that will display a sign on one of the holes on the golf course. All sponsorship forms must be turned in by Sept. 20

Lisane To Be Honored At Sampson Chapel

Saturday at 4 p.m., Sampson Chapel will honor Pastor Laeulia Lisane for eight pastoral years of service. The speaker will be Eldress Brenda Sutton from McLean’s Chapel FWB Church, Bunnlevel.

On Sept. 14 at 7 p.m., the youth will sponsor a “Friday Night Frenzy” program. The speaker will be minister Cory Munns from Restoration Church. This is a dress-down service and all are asked to bring their favorite hand noise maker.

Celebration For Assistant Pastor

Sunday at 10 a.m., Word of Power will have a celebration for their assistant pastor, Mary Mobley.

Youth Service, Yard Sale Coming Up

Greater Faith and Deliverance Ministry will hold a youth service tonight at 7:30. Guest speaker will be Pastor Michael McDuffie. He will be accompanied by Davis Chapel Holiness Church from Lillington.

Greater Faith and Deliverance Ministry will have a yard sale Saturday at 7 a.m. and at 11 a.m. will give away free back-to-school supplies and free food.

Prayer Conference Starts Sept. 13

Prayer Conference 2018 will be held Sept. 13-15 at 7 nightly and 8 a.m. on Sept. 15 at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church of Deliverance. The theme is “Boldly Before The Throne.” Speakers include Co-Pastor Patricia Brinson, Forever Flowing Ministries; Apostle Theodora McLaughlin, Deliverance and Praise C.O.W., Fayetteville; and Pastor Patsy Taylor, Hilltop Ministries, Goldsboro.

Dunn Chapel FWB Church will hold the pastor’s pre-anniversary programs today and Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. You’re invited to come out and help celebrate the pastor’s 13th anniversary. The pastor is Elder Timothy L. Thomas.

Gospel Sing Sept. 15

Charles Carlisle and the Grandpas will be in concert Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel. This is a free event and all are invited. Gospel and bluegrass music will be performed. Refreshments will be served.

On Saturday at 6 p.m., Union Hill Community Choir will be at the Howard family anniversary at Mingle Hill Disciples Of Christ, Salemburg.

On Sept. 16 at 3 p.m., there will be a building fund program at Union Hill Church. The guest minister is Millie Harris of Broadway. Music will be by the J&L Ensemble of Sanford.

Homecoming will be observed Sunday during the 11 a.m. service at Pleasant Grove FWB Church. The speaker will be Pastor Troy Williams. He will be accompanied by St. Timothy Church and choir. Everyone is invited. Lunch will be served. Chair person is Tina Colvin.

Revival will be held Sept. 13-14 at Pleasant Grove FWB Church. Service time is 7 p.m. The speaker will be Elder Thomas Washington from Cutts Chapel Church, Angier. The church family and choir will attend.

Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a Sunday school program Sept. 16. Service time is 4 p.m. The speaker will be Overseer Betty Vann from Kingdom Building Worship Center, along with the church family and choir.

Community Outreach Sept. 15

The Raleigh District presiding elder, Anthony Davis, will sponsor a Community Outreach Sept. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at Lillington-Shawtown Elementary School, 855 Old U.S. 421, Lillington. Featured will be a bouncy house, snow cone machine, popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, hamburgers, and booths offering information on voter registration, economic development, the Harnett County Library, health screenings, foster care, and parks and recreation. There also will be barbers and beauticians on site.

Holly Grove AC To Hold Plate Sale
Holly Grove Advent Christian Church will serve chicken pastry or barbecue pork plates for $8 per plate on Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. or sold out. Eat-in is also available. Silent auctions items can be bid on until 7 p.m. when the winners will be announced. Proceeds go towards the Building Fund.

Revival At New Beginning

Tonight at 7:30, New Beginning Love Fellowship Ministries will hold a one-night revival. The guest speaker will be Pastor Fred McNeill from Willow Spring FWB Church.

Sunday at 11 a.m., District Elder Kirby Haire from Piney Grove FWB Church in Fayetteville will speak at New Beginning Love Fellowship Ministries. Sunday, there will be an afternoon service at New Beginning Love Fellowship Ministries. The guest speaker will be Pastor Frank Taylor from Church of God Prophecy Church in Coats.

Rivenbarks At Pleasant Memory

Join Pleasant Memory Baptist Church Sunday at 11 as they welcome the Rivenbarks for Grandparents Day. The Rivenbarks are a well-known gospel group. Everyone is welcome. Lunch will follow and is being provided by the church. Members are asked to bring a dessert.

God’s House Of Prayer News

God’s House of Prayer will hold a Joy Service tonight at 7:30 at the Benson location (New Transformation Church). The preacher will be Minister Satonja McArthur.

Sunday will be Family and Friends Day at God’s House of Prayer in Dunn. Service time is 11 a.m. The preacher will be Junior Overseer Bishop David McArthur Sr.

All music will be rendered by the GHOP Choir.

Coats Christ Fellowship Anniversary

Coats Christ Fellowship will celebrate the church’s anniversary Sept. 16 at 10:30 a.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Wiley Clark. There will be special music and intercessory prayer. Lunch will follow.

Johnson To Be At Praise And Deliverance

Mount Zion MB News

Sunday at 11 a.m., Mount Zion MB Church will observe Grandparents Day. On Sept. 16, Mount Zion will celebrate its annual homecoming beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Floyd Ray will be the speaker. At 3 p.m., the speaker and church family will be Elder Willa R. Strickland and Running Branch Disciple Church of Clinton. Lunch will be served.

Fall Revival Starts Sept. 12

Davis Chapel Holiness Church will hold its fall revival, Sept. 12, 13 and 14. Services begin nightly at 7:30. Pastor Uppsie McKoy, choir and congregation from the House of Prayer, Lillington, will be the guests Sept. 12. On Sept. 13, Bishop John Burnette, choir and congregation of Antioch Holiness Church of Dunn will render the service. Pastor Michael McDuffie, pastor of Davis Chapel, will end the three nights of revival.
