Chicken pastry supper

Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church will host a chicken pastry supper Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Plates are $8 each and patrons may eat in at the CMC Building or pick up take-out plates from the fellowship hall.

An auction will begin at 7 p.m.

The church is located 1 mile south of Benson on N.C. 50.

The meal is sponsored by the Women’s Home and Foreign Missions Societies.

Union Hill to honor Claudia McLean

Union Hill Community Church family will honor the oldest mother of the church, Claudia McLean, on Sunday at 3 p.m. She will be honored with words from the ministers and singing. Dinner will be served after the service. The public is invited to attend.

‘Saturday Night Live’ at New Vision

Prophetic Breakthrough Ministries in conjunction with New Vision of Christ Christian Center will present “Saturday Night Live: Worship & Word” Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Special guests will be Pastor Justin Barnes, Jamale McKoy, Brittani Brown, D.R. Barnes & Youthful Praise, Rachel Lynch, Diondra Douglas and guest speaker Pastor Ryan Ford.

Pancake, sausage supper at Lee’s Chapel

Lee’s Chapel AC Church will hold a pancake and sausage supper Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Cost is $6 — all you can eat. Eat-in or take-out will be available.

The Dunn-Lillington District in partnership with Sandhills Family Heritage Association will give away food, baby diapers and household, health and beauty products this Saturday at 10 a.m. at Erwin Memorial AME Zion Church located at 716 W. M St. in Erwin.

Valentine Gala

The Women’s Ministry of Oak Grove AME Zion Church will sponsor a Valentine Gala, “Love Is In The Air,” on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be food, games, music and prizes. Come dressed to impress as there will be a special prize for the best dressed person and couple. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased from any woman of the church.

Inside yard sale Feb. 9

Dunn Chapel FWB Church, 607 E. Edgerton St., Dunn, will host an inside yard sale Feb. 9 from 7 a.m. until. Tables are available for $15 each. Set-up for tables will be on Friday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. It will be held in the fellowship hall.

Light breakfast items will be sold including coffee, muffins, sausage biscuits, cakes and drinks.

The host pastor is Elder Timothy Thomas. The yard sale is sponsored by upcoming Women’s Conference Committee.

Heritage Night at Union Grove FWB

You and your church family are invited to join Union Grove FWB Church in celebrating Heritage Night Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. at Union Grove FWB Church, 7282 Keener Road, Clinton. Pastor Timothy Dortch and his wife, first lady Terri Dortch, of Word of Truth Christian Fellowship, Goldsboro. They will take everyone back in time to the famous “I Have a Dream” speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. For entertainment, “Miss Hattie,” (Frances Sellers) is stopping by to give words of encouragement and a song to strengthen everyone’s spirits.

of Prayer news

A joy service will be held tonight at 7:30 at God’s House of Prayer with three of the church’s elder ministers to preach the word. All music will be rendered by the GHOP Choir.

The Sunday morning worship service will begin at 11 with the senior overseer, Apostle Bob McArthur Sr., to preach the word of God.

Red and White

Ball Feb. 8

Pineview Christian Center will host its second annual Red and White Ball on Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. This is a family event with fun-filled activities for all ages.

Tickets are $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 12 and younger, or $20 for families.

Mt. Carmel to host prom night experience

Mt. Carmel PFWB Church has joined the Tim Tebow Foundation in celebrating people with special needs, giving them a unforgettable prom night experience. This special event will be held at the Dunn Shrine Center on Feb. 8. They get limo rides, walk the red carpet, be crowned kings and queens, eat and dance the night away at no cost to them.

Mt. Carmel needs your help in order to make this a successful night. Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Mt Carmel will receive special guests to pick out and try on prom attire.

They need “buddies.” A “buddy” will accompany the special guest to the prom and accommodate them throughout the night. They also need servers, door attendants, makeup and hair stylists. There is an opening for you to help in an area.
