Mothers’ Alliance Convention set

The Great Western Disciples Assembly will host the Mothers’ Alliance Convention on Saturday at Assembly Headquarters, U.S. Highway 701 North in Newton Grove on Sunday. The convention will begin with a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. and a service at noon. The prayer breakfast costs $10 a person.

37th pastoral anniversary

Mount Pisgah Harnett Original Free Will Baptist Church, 145 Prospect Church Road, Erwin, will celebrate the 37th anniversary of its pastor, Bishop Reginald S. Hinton Sr., and his wife, on Sunday at 11 a.m. The theme of the service is “Possessing the Promises of God” and teaches that prayer is key and faith unlocks the door. Pastor Tom Wagoner of Central Baptist Church in Dunn will serve as guest preacher.

Oak Grove AMEZ
to celebrate homecoming

Oak Grove AME Zion Church will celebrate its 151st homecoming on Sunday at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Anthony J. Davis, presiding elder of the Raleigh District and former pastor at Oak Grove. The church is located at 3920 Bunnlevel Erwin Road, Erwin. Dinner will be served immediately following morning worship. The Rev. Nicholas M. Irion is the pastor.

Benefit sing for Sharon Autry

There will be a benefit sing for Sharon Autry on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Midway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4371 N.C. Highway 55 East, Erwin.

Singers will be CanaanLand from Princeton, The Alcorta Family from Clinton and The Horrell Family from Wallace.

Back-to-School Jam set Saturday

Greater Faith & Deliverance Ministry will hold a Back-to-School Jam on Saturday at 3 p.m. Speakers are Madison Matthews and Kaylee Haire from New Life Christian Center, Linden, and Pastor Austin Swinson.

Scholarship foundation to hold fundraising event

The Mary K. McKoy Living Legacy Scholarship Foundation invites you to the second annual Cuts for Boys and Curls for Girls fundraising event. It will be held Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Healing Center Ministry’s Inc., 1500 Brick Mill Road, Coats. Stylists will include Teddy Mason, India McKoy James, Dominique Cooper and Martina Wiggins.

Revival at Mount Olive FWB

Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, 7399 River Road, Wade, will hold its annual revival Aug. 21-23 at 7:30 nightly. Speakers will be Elder Curtis Joyner of Davis Chapel OFWB Church, Wednesday; Elder Willie McLeod, pastor of Johnston Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Thursday; and Dr. Larry Carter, pastor of Household of Faith World Outreach Center, Friday.

Back-to-school giveaway

The ROC Church of God will hold a back-to-school giveaway Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Children getting book bags must be accompanied by a parent. The church is located at 1934 U.S. Highway 301 South, Dunn.

Yard sale Saturday

Merciful Hands Outreach Ministries Deliverance Ministries will hold a yard sale Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It will be held at 2004 Erwin Road, Dunn.

Pastor anniversary program Aug. 25

On Aug. 25, the annual pastor anniversary program will be observed at Evening Star United Holiness Church beginning at 11 a.m. They will honor Elder Kenneth Dixon for his service to Evening Star. Dr. Margaret Wilson, pastor of Harnett Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, Dunn, will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be provided after the morning service. Everyone is invited to attend. Pastor anniversary celebration

Greater Faith & Deliverance invites you to help celebrate Lewis A. Geddie and first lady Jo Ann Geddie’s fifth pastor’s anniversary. On Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m., the speaker will be Pastor Tamisha Mack-Malloy of Secure Holy Church of God, Fayetteville. On Aug. 25 at 11:15 a.m., the speaker will be Elder Edward McDuffie of Greater Faith & Deliverance. The 3 p.m. speaker will be Elder Thomas Sumpter of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Dunn.

Oak Grove AMEZ to host Fun Day

The Board of Evangelism and The Lay Council of Oak Grove AME Zion Church will host Fun Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be free school supplies to be given away, food, face painting and a yard sale. Also, there will be a membership drive for the Lay Council where prizes are to be given away to those who register.

Upcoming events at The Love Center

The Love Center Church will hold a Men’s Day service on Sunday at 11 a.m. The speaker will be Deacon Reggie Lewis.

The Love Center will celebrate senior adults, 70 and older, on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m.

Dunn Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 607 E. Edgerton St., Dunn, will hold a pastor’s pre-anniversary program on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Bishop Benjamin Sutton from McLean Chapel FWB Church. The host pastor is Elder Timothy Thomas.

Gospel sing
to be held Aug. 24

Cumberland Street Baptist and My Brother’s Keeper will host The Crusaders, New Vision, Believers Quartet and Won 4 Christ on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. at 200 S. King Ave., Dunn. We’re on a Roll hot dog stand will be there at 5 to sell hot dogs to everyone beforehand so everyone can eat and fellowship in the fellowship hall. This is a free event. A love offering will be received to help raise support for My Brother’s Keeper’s efforts to help the needy in our area.

The Believers at Savannah Hill

The Believers will sing at Savannah Hill Free Will Baptist Church this Sunday at 11 a.m. The church is located at 2176 Savannah Hill Road, Dunn.
