The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man and woman, who are listed as “wanted sex offenders,” after deputies say they fled the county with their infant daughter.
Authorities are trying to find Cody James Cardwell, 28, and Brie-Anna Noel Schroll, 24, both of Sanford, according to HCSO Maj. Aaron Meredith.
Police suspect the two have their daughter with them.
Cardwell is described as a white man with hazel eyes and brown hair, standing 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. Schroll is described as a white woman with green eyes and brown hair. Police say she is 5-feet-7-inches tall.
Cardwell is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, two counts of felony probation violation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Schroll is being sought for failure to report a sex offense/non compliance.
They are believed to be traveling together in a grey 2016 Ford Focus 4S with Kentucky registration 527-XZF. The vehicle was taken without permission from a family member, according to the HCSO release.
Cardwell was convicted of sexual battery and child abuse in 2017. He is currently on probation for another conviction of obstructing justice on July 23.
Schroll is on probation for an Oct. 30 conviction of multiple charges ranging from possessing stolen goods to breaking-and-entering and larceny.
The couple are not only being sought on the charges, officials wish to check on the welfare of the infant.
