DUNN — Mrs. Annie Mae Stancil Tart, 90, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

Mrs. Tart was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Johnston County, daughter of the late Herman and Annie Starling Stancil. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lehmon Tart; daughter, Kathy Tart Adams; granddaughter, Amy Tart Dawkins and her brothers and sisters.

She was a graduate of Meadow High School. She was a longtime member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church and had been attending Central Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at Central Baptist Church with Pastors Tom Wagoner and Cameron Cloud officiating. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church prior to the service. The family will not be present for the viewing.

Mrs. Tart was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her children, Charles L. Tart and wife JoAnn of Dunn, Debbie Edge and husband Billy of Benson, Billy N. Tart and wife Vickie of Dunn; son-in-law, Ted Adams of Dunn; grandchildren, Crystal Norris and husband Brandon of Dunn, Tracy Wheeler and wife Tonya of Bolivia, Allison Smith of Benson, Ashley Barbour and husband Dusty of Dunn, Amanda Currin and husband Andrew of Dunn, Myron Adams and wife Jessica of Coats, Amy’s husband, Todd Dawkins of Roseboro; great-grandchildren, Seth, Kaylee, Brandon Michael, Victoria, Emalyn, Hailey, Abigail and Ava.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 6050 Plain View Hwy. Dunn, NC 28334.
