DUNN — Anthony Scott Pope, 53, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Scott was born on Oct. 8, 1967 in Harnett County and is the son of Windley and Peggy Pope.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at St. Matthews Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerome Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
He left behind his parents;, the love of his life, Kim Johnson; a brother, David Pope and wife, Teresa, of Dunn; sisters, Anita Touhey and husband, Joseph, of Calabash, North Carolina, Betty Kirchman of Durham, and Patricia Canady of Dunn; and nephews and nieces, Garrett, Summer, Jared, Justin, Lindsey, Ashley and Wesley.
The family received visitors Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
