The latest round of leagues at Buffaloe Lanes Erwin concluded recently, giving way to the summer season of competition. Mixed, men’s, women’s and senior are among the divisions offered each year. Here are the top winners from each winter league, according to the last reported results by Buffaloe Lanes officials.
Poker Where? claimed first place in the mixed league with 102 points, and a team average of 874.
Team members are Rick Sargent, Kelly Sargent, Mike R. Sargent and Ryan T. Sargent, who took top honors for men’s individual high average with a score of 230.52. The top women’s high average went to Kelly Sargent with a score of 200.73.
By God's Grace took top honors with 94 points, to go with an 812 team average.
Members include Susan A. Bryant, Bryan A. McLeod, Charlie E. McDougald, Gary W. Bryant and Josh Pittman.
McLeod won top men’s individual average with his score of 226.67, while Susan Bryant’s 161.69 was tops for all women bowlers.
Braxton J. Norris of team What Happened? claimed the top boy’s individual average (213.37) and Team 8’s Hannah M. Cunningham (194.98) topped all girls.
Carolina Girls, consisting of Judy M. Byrd and Susie P. Allen, earned first place by posting 91 points with a team average of 288.
The top men’s individual average went to Thomas Malone with a score of 209.71, and the top women’s average was Debbie Sullivan (156.84).
Johnny’s Gang posted a league-leading 80 points to claim top honors. Team members are Brenda H. Turlington, Johnny C. Turlington, Bobby Gilchrist Jr., Huey P. Harrington and Deana Parrish.
Rick Sargent won first place among men’s individual average with a 225.36, and the women’s highest average was posted by Kim Breeden (200.48).
Who Dat’s score of 87 points, and collective average of 510, topped the seniors-only league. Team members are Harrison Ray, Arnet Williams and Timothy B. Harris Sr. Ray had the men’s high individual average with a 178.86.
The top women’s average was Kay Williams (153.76).
Food Connoisseurs, consisting of Kimberly A. Tedder-Riley and Willie J. Blackmon, posted a league-high 400 1/2 points.
The highest individual average on the men’s side was Ethan Stanley with 204.10. On the women’s side, Sylvia Coxum’s 190.16 was tops.
Joel Tart 204.23 had the boy’s top individual average and Hannah Cunningham (182.62) won for the girls.
Come & Get It won the league with 102 points, boasting a team average score of 881.
Team members are Ricky F. McKinley, Chris N. Johnson, Rick Sargent and Ryan Sargent. The league’s highest individual average went to Rick Sargent, who posted a 235.12.
