BUIES CREEK — Game times for Campbell’s entire 2021 home football slate, and most of the road matchups, have been announced.
The Camels will make their home debut on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. against Elon, 665 days since last hosting a football game at Barker-Lane Stadium.
Campbell’s Sept. 18 matchup with former Big South Conference foe Presbyterian University will also feature a 6 p.m. kickoff.
Big South spring season champion Monmouth University will visit CU on Oct.16 at 1 p.m., welcoming the Hawks in its first 2021 conference game at Barker-Lane Stadium.
Perennially nationally ranked Kennesaw State University will follow on Oct. 23 in Buies Creek with a 4 p.m. start.
Hampton University comes to Barker-Lane Stadium on Nov. 13 for the Camels’ final home game of the regular season, kicking off at 1 p.m. CU is 2-0 all-time against the Pirates, topping HU 31-16 in its 2019 homecoming matchup.
Meanwhile, the season opener at Liberty University has been set for a 6 p.m. kickoff. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the Camels and the Flames, and is scheduled for ESPN3.
The matchup with Liberty will be the third straight season CU has opened the year at a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent. The Flames, who made the transition to FBS in 2018, are a former Big South member.
Campbell’s Nov. 6 game at James Madison University will kick off at 3:30 p.m., at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The game will be Campbell’s first-ever meeting with the perennial Football Championship Subdivision powerhouse.
CU is coming off an abbreviated four-game, all-FBS schedule last fall, taking on Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State and Wake Forest.
