GREENSBORO — Campbell’s men tennis team won the doubles point and claimed the bottom three singles matches to earn its eighth straight victory Wednesday, a 4-3 decision at North Carolina A&T State University.

Tomas Balazi and Leon Petko improved to 4-0 in Big South Conference doubles play, and 9-3 overall, using a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot. Ted Williams dropped only one game at the third position to secure the point.

In singles play, Noe Macquart secured the match with his fifth consecutive victory – a three-set decision at No. 6.

Robin Angles and Benjamin Maes won in straight sets at the fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Tuesday saw Campbell claim five singles matches with a 5-2 home victory over UNC Greensboro.

The Camels dropped the doubles point for the first time since Feb. 19, but took the lead through straight-sets victories by Williams, Balazi and Macquart.

Petko provided the decisive point with a three-set win at the fourth singles position, while Pol Otin also prevailed in three sets at No. 2 singles.

Campbell (11-4, 4-0) returns to action Saturday at UNC Asheville with a 1 p.m. first serve.
