LILLINGTON — The Dunn All-Stars Majors were crowned Dixie Youth Baseball District 11 champions Tuesday following a 13-3 win over Hoke County in four innings at Lillington Park.
Tyson Stephens led the group with a 3-for-3 effort at the plate that also included two RBIs. Carson Tew had a team-high three RBIs off a pair of hits and also pitched the last three innings, giving up no runs while collecting eight strikeouts.
Wesley Tew went 2-for-3 with two triples, while Kole Daughtry added two hits and a pair of RBIs.
Owen Bruce, Dylan Henderson and Carson Strickland each reached base in what was the team's third straight victory after topping Hoke 12-3 on Monday and beating Lillington 15-0 to start the tournament this past weekend.
Dunn advances to the DYB Division I State Tournament in Elizabethtown where they'll open play against Whiteville on Saturday, July 17.
