A Dunn police officer was injured in a collision with a box truck carrying a utility trailer Monday evening.

Dunn officer injured in wreck

A Dunn police officer was injured in a collision with a box truck carrying a utility trailer Monday evening.

Officer Chase Serlick was driving on U.S. Highway 301 just north of the city limits around 6 p.m. when he crashed into the back of the trailer carrying a zero-turn mower. All of the patrol car’s airbags were deployed in the wreck. Serlick was transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital with minor injuries.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
