Food service to resume for children in Johnston County

Johnston County Public Schools will resume curbside grab and go, pick-up lunch service beginning on Monday, April 27.

The service will operate weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Each service day will consist of additional food for the days they are not serving.

Locations will include:

  • Benson Middle
  • Clayton Middle
  • Cooper Academy
  • Corinth-Holders Elementary
  • Four Oaks Elementary
  • Glendale-Kenly Elementary
  • Meadow School
  • North Johnston Middle
  • Pine Level Elementary
  • Princeton Elementary
  • Selma Elementary
  • Smithfield-Selma High
  • West Clayton Elementary
  • West Smithfield Elementary

Any students younger than the age of 18 can receive a meal at no cost at any meal service location regardless of whether they attend Johnston County Public Schools. A parent or household member can come from the household to pick up the student meals.

For April 21-24

Beginning Tuesday, April 21, Johnston County Public Schools, in coordination with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, will offer one day of hot meals for each of the 13 schools that were being used as feeding sites.

These meals are made possible in coordination with Golden Corral of Garner. The schedule for these days are different for each site. Meal distribution will begin at noon each of the scheduled days.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, April 21: Benson Middle, Meadow School, Four Oaks Elementary and Princeton Elementary
  • Wednesday, April 22: Smithfield-Selma High, Selma Elementary and Pine Level Elementary
  • Thursday, April 23: North Johnston Middle, Corinth-Holders Elementary and West Smithfield Elementary
  • Friday, April 24: Clayton Middle, West Clayton Elementary and Cooper Academy
