HCSO PAL sponsors boxing event this weekend

FAYETTEVILLE — Local boxing fans are set to invade the Freedom Courts Sports Complex again this weekend.

Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League (PAL) is scheduled to sponsor another live-action event at the Fayetteville venue Friday through Sunday, Feb. 25 to 27.

The Carolina Gloves Championship Belt Tournament features boxers of all ages from various regions of the nation who will duke it out for a chance to win championship belts and walkover medals.

Last summer, HCSO PAL officials brought the return of the Christy Martin Title Boxing Invitational– what was an annual event to showcase amateurs from across the country until COVID-19 concerns canceled the 2020 tourney.

This weekend's festivities include live music and concessions, and are open to the public for a $25 admissions fee.

Friday will have one session at 6 p.m., Saturday's bouts start at noon and 6 p.m., while Sunday's championships are slated for 11 a.m.

Visit the NC USA Boxing website or call 910 890-5534 for more information.
