Hours temporarily changed for Clerk of Court’s office

Court cases or schedules not effected

Effective Monday, Jan. 10, the Harnett County Clerk of Court’s office will temporarily change operating hours.

The office will operate in two teams. It will open to the public each day from 8:30 a.m. until noon; close at noon for disinfecting; and reopen at 1 p.m. for emergency and time sensitive filings, upset bids and court ordered payments only.

These hours do not effect court cases or schedules.

“Please know that I have given this careful consideration,” said Clerk of Superior Court Renee Whittenton. “My office has seen an increase in COVID exposures and positive cases within the last two weeks. Without clerks available to record the minutes and judgments of the court, courts would be canceled. I believe following strict safety precautions, limiting staff exposure and working in teams will prevent this from happening.

“I appreciate your support, patience and understanding as my office continues to serve you during these uncertain times.”
