James Bradford (Brad) McDonald, 60, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 16, 2021. He was born in Dunn, North Carolina, Dec. 18, 1960, the only child of Frances Mason McDonald and James Alvin McDonald.
Brad was an entrepreneur and owned several small businesses. He also was an amazing cook and enjoyed participating in barbecue competitions, with his team Music City BBQ. Brad loved to restore cars, trucks and woodworking. Brad served his country as a VA employee for over 12 years in the Loan Guaranty program. He was an expert who loved advocating for the veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Matthews McDonald; daughter, Noelle McDonald; son, Matthew Bradford McDonald, his wife Ethalee McDonald; and one grandchild, Virginia Grace McDonald. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was a man of strong faith and attended Celebration of Life Nashville.
Burial will be Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Nashville, Tennessee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at Deer Valley Farm in Franklin, Tennessee.
