Jimmy Aswell Surles, 77, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Piedmont, South Carolina.
Born in Dunn on March 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Charlie William Surles and the late Christine Iris Aswell Surles.
Jimmy was a 1961 graduate of Dunn High School and retired from AT&T. He had lived in Florida and White Lake before moving to NHC in Anderson, South Carolina, to be closer to his family.
He is survived by his children, Scott Surles (Brenda), Stephanie Surles Seymore (Michael) and Heather McClain (David); grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan and Edward Surles, Michelle and Megan Seymore and Kameron and Kassadi McClain; as well as a great-grandchild, Hudson McClain. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Charlie Surles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Surles Wood.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Lake Church, 1930 White Lake Drive, White Lake.
