SMITHFIELD — This year’s graduation ceremonies at Johnston Community College will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 11-13, beginning at 6 each evening.
Graduates and a limited number of guests will stay in their cars for the outdoor ceremony until they walk across the stage. The ceremonies will be broadcast live over 89.3 FM, Facebook, and YouTube so that people in their cars can tune in to the speeches and conferring of diplomas.
Dr. David Johnson, JCC president; Lillian Anderson, Student Government Association president; and Lyn Austin, JCC board chair, will speak at the ceremonies, which are broken into three night of programs.
The first night, Health Sciences students will receive their diplomas. On the second night, JCC will recognize College Transfer students. On the third, the Applied Sciences graduates will receive their degrees.
The ceremonies will take place in the parking lot in front of the Wilson building of the main campus. The livestream can also be seen each night at www.johnstoncc.edu/graduation. If you have questions, contact Carrie Pitts-Densmore.
