Lawson Godwin is a Dunn-Erwin Rotary Student of the Week

The Dunn-Erwin Rotary Club recently recognized Lawson Godwin as Student of the Week.

Lawson, a senior at Triton High School, is the son of Pam and Scott Daniel of Dunn.

During his time at Triton, Lawson has participated in Big Brother Big Sister, Backpack Buddies, FBLA, Alpha Honors Society, the Beta Club and is currently serving as the Student Government Association executive treasurer. He served as captain of the Mock Trial team both his sophomore and junior years, and was voted best attorney.

Lawson  has also been on the tennis team all four years, seeded No. 1, and receiving the Rookie of the Year award, Leadership award and first in conference.

Since his junior year, he has been working as a crew member at Smithfield’s Chicken ’n’ Bar-B-Que. Lawson plans to attend North Carolina State University to major in international studies and public policy, and then to pursue a career in law.
