The Midway Area Churches Association (MAC) presented three scholarships to finalists in the MAC Scholarship Program at a fellowship service Sunday.

MAC president and Pastor Floyd Ray hosted the service at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at 9030 Harnett-Dunn Highway.

The $1,000 scholarships went to Ja’Niqua McLeod, Ridley Faircloth and Makenzi Hudson.

Each of the students are members of a MAC church.

Scholarship committee Chairman John Riley said that MAC has renewed its scholarship program that was interrupted and placed on hold last year due to the pandemic. Following the scholarship presentations, Rev. Johnny Peterson, past president of MAC, presented an inscribed plaque to Riley for his years of service as the chairman of the MAC Scholarship Committee. Riley is the chief financial officer at Bleecker Automotive Group.

Pastors Chris Hall, Doug Howard, Claudie Morrisey, Johnny Peterson and Matt Young also officiated at the service. A reception immediately followed.

Ray said the MAC Association is grateful for the companies and individuals who made the contributions that made these scholarships possible.
