McLean, Clegg exchange marriage vows

Covadas Denise McLean and Randolph Junior Clegg were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. double-ring ceremony Sept. 19 at the Purdie & Ida Elliott Family Life Center in Spring Lake. Pastor Lewis Geddie of Greater Love & Deliverance Ministry in Dunn officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jeanette and Walter Calvin McLean Sr. of Bunnlevel. She is a granddaughter of the late Roger Kelly of East Orange, New Jersey, the late Willie Mae Kelly of Lillington, and the late Lacy and Iola McLean.

The bride has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in pharmaceutical science from North Carolina Central University and works as a quality assurance technical specialist at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies.

The groom is the son of Lubertha Knight of Lithonia, Georgia and Pastor Lewis Geddie and wife, Joann, of Linden. He is a grandson of the late Harold and Flora Jones of Dunn. He is a graduate of Triton High School and is employed as a distribution and collections systems supervisor at Harnett Regional Water.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

A memory candle was lit in remembrance of Iola McLean, Donna Kelly Blue, Willie Mae Kelly and Teresa Clegg, at the service.

Attendants

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Marisol Hydock of Morrisville. Bridesmaids were Andria Hankerson, Shelly Kelly, Dajuana Amerson and Lakia Beverly.

Flower girl was the couple’s daughter, Laci McLean.

Serving the groom as best man was Scott Holliday of Erwin. Groomsmen were Darryl Jones, Jalil Clegg, Johnny Thompson and Walter McLean Jr.

Ring bearer was the couple’s son, Jaden McLean.

The wedding was directed by Bobbie McLean of Simply Weddings.

Musicians were DJ Dave Actkinson.

Vanyti Amerson and Maci McLean presided at the register.

Following a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia the couple will reside in Fuquay-Varina.

Reception

A reception was held at the Purdie & Ida Elliott Family Life Center in Spring Lake where Chef Deven Atkinson served cake and punch.

Assisting at the reception was Alexandrea Clegg.

Bridal luncheon

Ajaya Mitchell hosted the bridal luncheon at Bahama Breeze in Raleigh on Saturday, Aug. 8.
