Feb. 5, 1930 – May 21, 2020
Pat, as was known by all that knew her, left to be with her Lord and Savior. Mom was born in Hammond, Indiana, to Lorene Mills Townsend, and father, George Townsend. Mom was working at her mother’s diner in Indiana when she met Arlin Chester Ronding (Chet). They married, and moved to Duluth, Minnesota. The family moved to Hermantown, Minnesota, in 1959 where Mom raised six children. Mom went back to school midlife and received her nursing degree. She loved her nursing career. In 1984, Chet passed away — then three years later, she reacquainted with an old friend, Walter Hudson. They were happily married and lived in North Carolina until Walt’s’ passing in 2007.
At the time of her death, she was living in Houston, Texas, to be by two of her daughters, Barb and Beth, and some of her grandkids.
Pat is survived by her children, Daniel Ronding (Judy), Lorene Ronding Scheidt (Gary), Barbara Ronding, David Ronding and Beth Ronding Lenford (Cardell); and by a brother, George Townsend of Arizona; and her sister-in-law, Marlene Townsend of Indiana, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her youngest son, Donald Ronding, predeceased her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
