DUDLEY - Will Pennington logged eight strikeouts in six-plus innings of work and Southern Wayne snapped a four-game skid with a 7-3 triumph over county and Eastern Carolina 3A-4A rival Eastern Wayne on Tuesday evening.
Pennington (1-2) scattered yielded three runs (all earned), walked four and permitted six hits.
Richard Noble earned the save with a game-ending strikeout.
Alex Davis (four RBI) and Alex Ferrell (two RBI) pounded out two hits apiece for the Saints, who halted a two-game losing streak against the Warriors.
Noble, Carson Daly, Wyatt Womble and Josh Wall each supplied one hit.
The teams meet again Thursday in New Hope. Game time is 6 p.m.
SEVEN SPRINGS - Andrew Crumpler batted 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and scored three runs during Spring Creek’s 15-1, mercy-rule conquest of East Central 2A foe Wallace-Rose Hill.
Will Ervin, Campbell Cunningham (three RBI), Robert Strickland and Cole Honeycutt (four RBI) each turned in a two-hit outing. David Williams, Douglas Davidson (RBI) and Harrison Sutton delivered one hit apiece.
Cunningham, Ervin and Honeycutt combined for a four-hitter eight strikeouts on the bump.
The teams meet again Thursday in Teachey.
CALYPSO - Andy Cameron provided two hits and two RBI during North Duplin’s 4-2 road victory over Princeton on the Carolina 1A Conference baseball scene.
Landon Kelly and Gage Outlaw added two hits apiece.
Tyler Johnsey (RBI), Kyle Smith, Kyle Holland and Eric Rosas contributed one hit apiece. Esteban Santos Clark collected an RBI.
Outlaw emerged as the winning pitcher. The senior yielded two earned runs on eight hits, walked two and retired five Bulldogs on strikeouts.

North Duplin (3-2 overall, 3-2 Carolina) travels to Hobbton on Thursday.
