Our road is not made for tractor trailers

We need some help on Old Hamilton Road with tractor trailers! This road is getting beat up due to them. They also travel very fast. This road was to be for cars — not tractor trailers.

A fine welcome for a cut and a shave

I recently came home from being on the road. I went to Sherry’s Bakery for my usual meal. This time, though, I was looking for a place to have a shave and haircut when I spotted a shop I had somehow overlooked — The Bearded Goose 77 with an old barber pole out front. So after a fine meal at Sherry’s I went over to find they only take appointments, which is OK under the COVID-19 circumstances. I made the appointment for the next day. There is an old rustic feeling to this establishment and I haven’t received such a welcoming in awhile. Dunn needs more people like those of The Bearded Goose.

Why do end-of-year tests have to be in person?

Why do these remote at-home students have to jeopardize their families to go and take an in-person end of the year test? We need to speak up to the State Board and express our concerns about our safety during this pandemic. Staff members and children are still getting COVID. No matter how much you clean and sanitize. I commend those parents that are sending their children to seated classes, but there are other families that have serious medical issues that are preventing them from allowing their child/children to attend seated class at this time.

What’s up with paying Erwin bills in Lillington?

What is going on with Erwin Town Hall? Residents are being made to go to Lillington to pay their water bill. This makes no sense to any of us. They let a sweet young lady leave and now we are having to drive all the way to Lillington. They need her back! We are all unhappy!
