‘Victim’ should be ‘Suspect’

I’m writing in reference to your article “Victim of Officer Involved Shooting.” Although there have been cases in the last few years that I agree police have used excessive force, this is definitely not one. Calling him a “Victim” just shows your left wing biasness. A much better term would have been “Suspect.” Shame on you!

What about earlier wars?

I wish to thank you for the Memorial Day tribute issue of Friday, May 27 which listed all the names of those in Harnett County who gave that last full measure of devotion in armed conflicts from World War I to present. Yet may I humbly take umbrage that it did not mention the earlier armed conflicts that came before, like the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, War Between the States and the Spanish-American War.

From the Editor: The Daily Record publishes a list of fallen soldiers every Memorial Day. Staff will work hard to find the names of soldiers from earlier wars to include in the next Memorial Day edition. If you know of someone, locally, who was lost in a war that did not appear in the latest May 27 edition, please email the soldier’s name, rank, branch and conflict to news@mydailyrecord.com .
