Stop the violence

I too am saddened that a woman who has lived 72 years is gunned down in her own community (“Grandmother shot in head,” Tuesday, July 20). Sheriff (Wayne) Coats has pleaded for help in identifying the suspects. Unless the people living in the Erwin-Bunnlevel area wish to stop the violence there will be no solution to this problem. Law enforcement can’t do it alone, it needs the help of the community to speak out and rid itself of those members that terrorize the community. It’ll take courage but in the long run the community will be free.

No grandmother or anyone else should endure such senseless death from “protected” hands. It’s up to the community to decide right from wrong.

Low vaccine rate isn’t causing COVID spike

It is such a false statement that the virus is going up because of the people who haven’t been vaccinated. I personally know of about 40 people who took the shot and they contracted the virus. Sadly to say, some of them did not make it and some remain in the ICU in the hospital. These people that have taken the shot and go out everywhere, thinking they can’t get it and spread it is exactly why it is spiking up. When you have to pay people to take the shot that should be a red flag. ... Government (is) trying to tell people what to do. I am putting my trust in the Lord.
