SOUND OFF: Wrong medicine

Kudos to the caller (Sound Off, July 30, “Not the bubonic plague”) who debunks [a previous caller] (Sound Off, July 23, “Low vaccine rate isn’t causing COVID spike”).

Now according to a health alert from the Mississippi State Department of Health, the Mississippi Poison Control Center has been getting an increasing number of calls from people who have taken livestock ivermectin in attempts to prevent or treat COVID-19.

People apparently are having a cow about getting a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, yet are willing to try a medication designed for parasites in cows.
