Spruce up city with flowers

Everyone in Dunn needs to go to Angier and see their beautiful downtown. It’s full of pots overflowing with lovely flowers. They have a new section of single tables down streets to encourage citizens to eat or snack outside.

Also, a common area with large gazebo. And their pond in the middle of town is well used with walking, playground and picnic area. It also is very open and safe for senior citizens walking.

It would be nice if Dunn had flowers all over downtown and surrounding areas. Many of our vacant lots could be planted at very low cost. We could have a gazebo or bandstand where concerts were held all summer. Could give small discount on taxes for all who let their property be used.

Difference Sunday school classes could take an area. Could have a contest to award first, second and third place. Let citizens vote. Dunn could become known as the “Flower City” along Interstate 95. And it could be done by next year, not 30 years from now.
