NEWTON GROVE — Mr. Stonie Maynor Eastman, 67, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at his home. Mr. Eastman was born Oct. 26, 1951, in Robeson County to the late Leonard and Jessie Maynor Eastman. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Debra Gail Eastman; and a nephew, Daniel Eastman.
Mr. Eastman graduated from the Governor Morehead School for the blind, and taught at the school for 19 years. Mr. Eastman also owned and operated Eastman Vending for 26 years.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Nutt officiating.
Mr. Eastman is survived by his wife of 14 years, Beth Stewart Eastman of the home; siblings, Wayne and wife Reesa Eastman of Fayetteville, Ronnie Eastman of Fayetteville, Lori Spears and husband Mike of Garner, Betty Webb and husband Mike of Raeford, Ricky Eastman and wife Holly of Clayton, and Susan Drewry of Raeford; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Lions Club International, 300 W. 22nd St., Oak Brook, IL 60523-8842; or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
