Three injured in Thursday midday crash

Three people were injured Thursday after a crash at the intersection of Sheriff Johnson and Neill’s Creek roads.

Around 11:13 a.m. a pickup with two adults, hauling construction debris was struck broadside after a car ran through the intersection without stopping , according to a North Carolina State Highway Patrol spokesman.

The driver of the car was taken to WakeMed Cary and the two people in the pickup, who had to be extricated by EMS personnel, were transported to WakeMed Raleigh, with what appeared to be serious, but non life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.

Initial calls for medical evacuation helicopters were called off and all three were taken by ambulance.

Crews from NCSHP, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, Bunnlevel Summerville Fire and Buies Creek Fire departments responded to the scene.

The names of those involved was not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation by the NCSHP.
