ANGIER — The Harnett Central boys tennis team shut out Rosewood, 9-0, at home Tuesday to extend its undefeated start this season.
In a pro-set format, Central (5-0) swept its matchups in both singles and doubles action.
Trojans No. 1 seed Jacob Brown earned an 8-0 shutout victory over Matais Moreno and Logan Stroud topped Joseph Bailey, 8-2 in the No. 2 spot.
Reagan Gray, Tyler Greger, Landis Eller and Taylor Davenport accounted for the team's other singles wins.
In doubles, Gray and Greger took care of Rosewood's Moreno and Gio Amaro-Silva, 8-6, in the No. 1 match. Brown and Eller combined for the closest doubles bout of the day, eventually defeating Bailey and Aedon Peacock, 9-7, at No. 2.
At No. 3, Trojans seniors Stroud and Caleb Temple teamed up to defeat Aaron Zamora and Jace Wise, 8-2.
The victory marked a third consecutive shutout for Central, who also earned 9-0 wins over South Johnston and Gray's Creek.
Wednesday's matchup at Terry Sanford was rescheduled to March 29 due to inclement weather. Central is scheduled to play again Thursday at South.
