WEEKLY PREP ROUNDUP: North Duplin

This week's update from North Duplin sports includes volleyball and boys' soccer.

GOLDSBORO — The North Duplin volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Carolina 1A Conference opponent Rosewood on Thursday. 

Set scores were 15-25, 20-25, 26-24, 19-25.

Reece Outlaw led North Duplin with 14 kills and 15 digs, while libero Kasey Jones totaled 14 digs. Starr Jaco added nine assists. 

Tuesday saw the Lady Rebels fall 3-1 at home to Union.

Set scores were 15-25, 26-24, 22-25, 27-29.

Outlaw stuffed the stat sheet, leading the way with a team-high 15 kills to go with 14 digs and five aces.

Kasey Jones paced the group with 16 digs, while Morgan McCoy posted four blocks and Logan Jones added 13 assists.

The Lady Rebels (6-4, 0-4 CC) look to snap a three-game losing skid Tuesday, Sept. 28 against Hobbton. 

Rebels soccer falls to Neuse Charter 

The North Duplin boys soccer team fell behind early and eventually lost to Neuse Charter 5-1 on the road Monday. 

The Rebels faced a 3-0 deficit at halftime, then were outpaced by a goal in the more competitive second half.

Freshman Henry Gonzalez had the team's lone score on the evening, while goalkeeper Xander Mele finished with 11 saves in the loss. 

North Duplin (0-4, 0-1 CC) is scheduled to play next on Sept. 29 at Rosewood.
